Light is not art, it's not technique; it's simply emotion. Because emotion is an expression of feelings, of long breaths and sighs. It's not art because it's just a part of a larger design or project. It's not technique because technology alone is not enough without any emotion. So, what is light? How can we capture such an abstract yet technical concept?
The answer is simple: light is a combination of emotions, art, and concept. It's technique and technology. A sophisticated formula composed of many well-blended ingredients to create wonder. The wonder of the morning sunlight, the sunset over the sea, the moonlight on a warm summer evening, the soft light on a cold snowy day. The light reflecting on the water in the blue sea of Capri.

How many times do we sigh or feel amazed when we turn it on? Light is, therefore, emotion. An expression created by technique to amaze, to delight, to make us think, to emphasize or conceal.
Light is harmony, it's pure joy. Light enhances matter, defines it, traces it, molds it. Light is beauty.
Light is also shadow; where there's none, it creates the night. It accompanies us, tells bedtime stories. It wakes us up in the morning, turning everything around us into an explosion of colors. So, the answer to the question... what is light?... is all of this... an emotion. Does technique and technology help generate emotions? Yes... they describe a story made of many elements that lead to a final result that makes us go 'wow.'
